Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for effectively supervising employees in a designated area of manufacturing to ensure a safe work environment, meet production deadlines, and attain established goals in the areas of production quality, delivery, and cost. They will work closely with Support Resources assisting in local plant change management processes.
• Above all, ensure a safe work environment.
• Support and drive the lean manufacturing system; assign work; and recommend and implement improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, employee relations, and working conditions.
• Oversee all departmental activities and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Resolve employee issues, ensure positive employee relations, and promote and enforce all company policies fairly and consistently.
• Responsible for area performance measures and individual employee work performance; provide coaching and direction to employees; and work with the manufacturing manager to identify development and/or training needs for employees.
• Responsible for communication at all levels.
• contribute to the development and implementation of site safety and health goals, objectives, rules and procedures. He/she will actively participate in the EHS Engagement program, as well as follow all EHS rules, procedures and policies.
• Communicating and enforcing safe work procedures, identification and closure of safety issues, (suggestions, inspection and investigation findings, hazards and controls, GSSF actions), and their corrective actions.

Education:
Associates Degree, or equivalent experience required; Bachelors’ Degree in a related field preferred.
Experience:
• 5 years experience in a manufacturing related position required.
• 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred; experience in the automotive industry preferred.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing processes/procedures required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills essential.
• Familiarity with proven safety programs or quality programs a plus.
• Knowledge of measuring devices i.e. micrometers, height stands, calipers.
• PLEX experience a plus
