Job Description

Do you lose sleep over a bug that slipped through to production? Do you obsess over the gap between what software does and what users expect it to do? If quality isn't just a checkbox for you but a core value, then we want to hear from you. We're looking for a passionate and driven QA Engineer to join our team in Bratislava — someone ready to champion automated testing, raise the quality bar, and make sure every release is something to be proud of.

About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our engineering operation — a critical guardian of our insurance platforms' functionality, reliability, and performance. You won't just find bugs; you'll build the systems that prevent them. Working alongside talented cross-functional teams, you'll design and implement robust testing strategies that safeguard user experience and keep our platforms running at their best. This is a role where your work truly matters — every test you write, every quality gate you enforce, directly impacts the experience of our end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, requirements engineers, and subject matter experts to deeply understand insurance platform functionality and user expectations.

  • Develop comprehensive testing plans and gain thorough understanding of the operational processes embedded within the software.

  • Build and maintain automated tests for UI and API layers using Selenium WebDriver & Java and Postman Enterprise, covering accuracy, performance, and load requirements.

  • Implement quality gates to ensure rigorous testing standards are met before any deployment is approved for release.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and continuously enhance test case coverage to prevent recurrence.

  • Write robust, reusable, and maintainable test scripts for both UI and API layers.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ADO) to support seamless and reliable delivery.

  • Perform test planning, test case design, and execution — combining manual and automated approaches where appropriate.

  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility testing to deliver consistent user experiences.

  •  Participate in code reviews and actively enforce QA best practices across the team.

  • Continuously improve test coverage, execution speed, and reliability to keep pace with evolving product needs.

  •  Stay current with emerging technologies and Generative AI developments to drive ongoing improvements in testing efficiency.

About the Team

We are a team that believes engineering excellence isn't just an aspiration — it's our standard. Our leaders are engineers themselves, which means technical depth and quality-first thinking are embedded into everything we do. We build applications that are carefully designed, thoughtfully implemented, and crafted to surpass the expectations of our users — always working hand-inhand with product owners to bridge the gap between vision and reality.

Quality and stability are first-class deliverables here, not afterthoughts. We lead by example, embedding high standards into our processes and holding each other accountable to them. If you thrive in an environment where craftsmanship is celebrated and continuous improvement is a way of life, you'll feel right at home with us.

About You

You're a naturally curious and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a high-performance engineering environment. You believe that quality is everyone's responsibility — and you take that seriously. You're energised by continuous learning, whether through self-driven exploration or by absorbing knowledge from the talented people around you. You bring a collaborative spirit, a methodical mindset, and a genuine passion for delivering software that users can trust.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with UI automation testing using Selenium-Java and API automation using RestAssured and/or Postman — you can design, build, and maintain robust automated test suites from the ground up.

  • Proven ability to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) — you understand how quality gates fit into the broader delivery process and know how to make them work effectively.

  •  Solid experience in test planning, test case design, and execution across both manual and automated testing approaches — you can assess what needs to be tested, how, and to what depth, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the SDLC.

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry — familiarity with the domain adds valuable context to your testing work.

  • Understanding of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber — writing tests in a behaviour-driven style that bridges the gap between business and technical teams.

  • Familiarity with Docker for managing and configuring test environments.

  • Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies — knowing how to stresstest systems and interpret results.

  • Understanding of cloud-based application architectures and how they influence testing strategies.

  •  Experience working within Agile development methodologies and contributing to sprintbased delivery cycles.

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,800 and EUR 4,600 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
