What You'll Do:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections across Onni’s residential, commercial, mixed-use, and construction assets to identify hazards and exposures before they result in losses.
  • Develop and implement loss prevention programs, safety protocols, and risk control recommendations tailored to property type, construction phase, and operational risk profile.
  • Analyze loss data, incident reports, and claims trends to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to operations, property management, and development teams.
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers, carriers, and risk engineers on loss control surveys, underwriting submissions, and renewal strategy to optimize coverage and reduce premiums.
  • Manage vendor and contractor insurance compliance, including certificate of insurance tracking, endorsement verification, and contractual risk transfer requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and industry best practices across Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with fire, life safety, environmental, and building code standards.
  • Prepare risk assessment reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for senior leadership, highlighting key exposures, loss prevention ROI, and portfolio-wide risk trends.

What You Bring:

  • Degree in Risk Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in risk management, loss prevention, or loss control — in-house with a real estate owner/operator, with a carrier, or at a brokerage.
  • Knowledge of property and liability exposures in commercial real estate, residential operations, and construction, including familiarity with OCIP/CCIP and WRAP programs.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. regulatory frameworks for building safety, fire codes, and occupational health and safety standards.
