Mission

Dishwashers are important members of the food preparation team. The food preparation team members will ensure that The Guest Experience is achieved for all things culinary. This is accomplished by exceeding performance expectations within the five major areas of responsibilities: service, technical proficiency, teamwork, safety & emergencies, and appearance.



 



Service




  • Conveys a friendly attitude by greeting guests and co‐workers with a warm smile and eye contact

  • Demonstrates An Ascend Collection Hotel’s hospitality by treating all guests with respect

  • Refers to all customers as guests

  • Is quick to respond to any guest’s or co‐workers special request or needs



 



Technical Proficiency




  • Assists other work production and timings standards by keeping up with clean dishes and pots and pans

  • Cleaning checklist administration results in a kitchen that is clean, well maintained, and safe

  • Food handling, holding, and refrigeration meet all local health and sanitation requirements as measured by routine health inspections. 

  • Handles, stores, and rotates all plates and equipment properly. See the Kitchen Equipment Operation & Cleaning Guide in the An Ascend Collection Hotel Food Preparation Training Section.

    • Reports any functional and mechanical problems immediately to the Kitchen Manager or Shift Supervisor.



  • Is actively in their station at all times

  • Follows their ABC’s “always be closing” during the slow moments of the shift



 



Teamwork




  • Teamwork begins with “being on time”

  • Is respectful of their peers

  • Each dishwasher ensures that his or her opening checklist is completed in a timely manner

  • Each dishwasher ensures that his or her closing checklist are completed in a timely manner

  • Assist Cooks with food production tasks as requested

  • Understands teamwork begins by doing your job well first and then assisting others.  Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.

  • Communicates effectively to management and other works groups

  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.



 



Safety and Sanitation




  • Adheres to all safety practices as outlined in the safety sections in the An Ascend Collection Hotel Food Preparation Section, including Kitchen Safety and Knife Safety

  • Adheres to all sanitation practices as outlined in the safety sections in the An Ascend Collection Hotel Food Preparation Section, including the Food Safety Guide, Health Department Inspections and the Food Storage Guide

  • Understands all emergency procedures outlined in the hotel emergency policies and procedures and is able to follow emergency procedures protocol in each emergency situation



 



Appearance




  • Is viewed as friendly by the continuing use of their smile and positive attitude

  • Uniform appearance is crisp and clean and meets An Ascend Collection Hotel’s uniform standards

  • Team member make‐up and jewelry meets An Ascend Collection Hotel’s uniform standards

  • Maintains a high level of personal hygiene.  Let’s their supervisor know when they are not feeling well and frequently washes to avoid all types of cross contamination.
