About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Retail Media Lead to build and scale Joybuy’s retail media presence across the UK and EU. You will own regional media strategy, drive high-impact advertiser partnerships, and ensure brands maximise value from our consumer base. This role oversees commercial negotiations, campaign excellence and client success - helping brands and key advertisers unlock performance through data-led, full-funnel media solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the retail media strategy for the UK and EU.
- Build data-driven media strategies and annual plans that align with partner objectives and deliver measurable business results.
- Lead the full campaign lifecycle, including planning, setup, optimisation, analysis, and post-campaign insights, ensuring operational excellence and consistent quality across advertisers.
- Develop playbooks, bidding frameworks, and optimisation standards for brand and performance campaigns, including peak events.
- Build and lead strategic partnerships with FMCG brands and key advertisers to grow retail media investments, drive revenue growth through upsell, and identify new commercial opportunities.
- Act as a Retail Media ambassador, educating partners on audience value, performance insights, full-funnel solutions, and aligning partnership goals across internal teams.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial terms, manage senior stakeholder relationships, and ensure advertiser success across campaigns.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with category teams, campaign managers, analytics, design, and commercial teams to ensure flawless campaign execution and optimisation.
- Shape and oversee creative campaign concepts, ensuring marketing activations are innovative, on-brand, and effectively engage target audiences.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years in retail media, e-commerce advertising, digital marketing or advertising operations.
- Strong experience in building or scaling advertising operations, media strategy or partnership teams.
- Deep understanding of retail media (sponsored ads, bidding, targeting, measurement and optimisation).
- Demonstrated success in managing senior commercial relationships and leading negotiations.
- Experience developing data-driven media plans and delivering measurable performance outcomes.
- Commercial thinker with strong ownership of business results.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex performance data.
- Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders in matrixed, cross-border environments.
- Strong relationship-builder with expertise in managing high-value partnerships.
