Summary of Position:
The Direct Care Staff serve as an assistant to the RN or LPN by performing regular assignments and responsibilities as assigned under the direction of the nurse. This team member is responsible for providing care in compliance with company policies and within the Direct Care staff scope of practice.
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- One year experience in care of infants and toddlers, or related experience such as medical technician training or emergency medical technician preferred.
- Must be certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/BLS with AED and First Aid.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Environment: Work is performed primarily in a Prescribed Pediatric Care Setting (PPEC) setting with extensive patient contact.
- Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work with a patient; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 30 lbs.); and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
- Vision: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing: Hear in a normal audio range, with or without correction.
