Job Description

They will support regulatory compliance across the company and duties will include developing policies, evaluating regulatory change and rolling out compliance requirements, supporting the business in ensuring regulatory compliance and helping to ensure that the company has appropriate compliance frameworks and controls in place. The role sits within Fortegra Insurance UK Ltd and will operate across the UK Specialty and UK Warranty & Consumer businesses and will be accountable to the Head of UK Compliance. The role will also support compliance work for Fortegra Europe and Fortegra Belgium as required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the Head of UK Compliance and Europe Compliance Officer in ensuring timely adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Researching industry compliance regulations and policies and providing analysis against the exiting control framework.
  • Support the Head of UK Compliance with SMCR requirements and ensuring an adequate control framework.
  • Operate the second line of defence for UK business, providing guidance and oversight to the Specialty and Warranty & Consumer businesses.
  • Support the Specialty and Warranty & Consumer businesses in undertaking due diligence when onboarding new business including responsibility for relevant regulatory notifications.
  • Ensure appropriate consideration, communication and implementation of regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively engage with the UK businesses to increase awareness and understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Support the management of regulatory and compliance breaches and incidents, working with the business to create remedial action plans as necessary.
  • Ensure that appropriate records are maintained which will provide evidence that regulatory requirements have been met.
  • Supporting the Head of UK Compliance and Europe Compliance Officer in delivering the product governance control framework.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of UK regulatory and compliance requirements, in particular Outsourcing, Consumer Duty and PROD 4
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work within a dynamic team in growth mode
  • Ability to work colligatively across the UK and Europe businesses and the wider regulatory and compliance team
  • Excellent verbal, visual and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with ability to multi-task and prioritise actions
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality and consistency

Key Deliverables:

  • Support the Compliance Team in ensuring company adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Understanding and support of commercial needs without compromising regulatory position and adherence
  • Timely adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements and reporting
  • Supporting the management of breaches and issues in line with company processes and standards

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate industry professional qualification or legal qualification
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience of working within insurance or financial sector companies in a compliance role
  • Thorough understanding of UK regulatory and compliance requirements
