Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Controller manages day-to-day accounting operations and ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with company policies. This role translates operational activity into reliable financial information.
REPORTS TO: CFO
SUPERVISES: Senior Accountant and Business Analyst
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
- Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing processes
- Monitor working capital, receivables, payables, and inventory levels
- Improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate annual audit, tax preparation, and regulatory filings
- Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance
- Regular and timely attendance is an expectation of the position
- 5S foundations for deploying more advanced lean production tools and processes
Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred
- 5–10 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility
- Manufacturing and cost accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Strong ERP and Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership ability
COMPETENCIES:
- Self-starter that takes initiative with a high attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
- Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
