Department:   Administration

 Cherry Brook Health Care Center, a division of New Horizons, Inc., offers short-term rehabilitation, long –term respite, hospice and dementia care.  Our dedicated staff provides individualized care with compassion, dignity and respect.  Located in Canton, our facility has spacious private and semiprivate rooms, a well-appointed dining area, comfortable lounges and a beautiful landscaped outdoor terrace.

 PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION:

The primary purpose of your position is to oversee the admissions process, ensuring a seamless transition for new residents and their families. To manage admission-related staff, conduct facility tours, provide detailed information about services, discuss financial options, and coordinate with medical teams to assess the specific needs of incoming residents. The Director of Admissions and Marketing develops and implements marketing strategies that drive business growth and attract new residents. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Be the face of Cherry Brook and guide potential residents and community members as they learn about our community.  Provide information and tours as requested with a positive and welcoming attitude. 
  • Responsible for creating and executing marketing plans, building relationships with healthcare providers, and ensuring the facility's services are well-represented to the community. 
  • Ensures that all marketing efforts align with the nursing home's goals and objectives
  • Build and nurture relationships within the community to enhance outreach and referral sources.
  • Collaborate with skilled staff to ensure a smooth admissions process and exceptional resident experiences.
  • Take ownership of the admissions process to ensure timely and accurate responses to referral sources.
  • Plan and participate in committees for employee engagement or other related committees as requested.
  • Any other relevant tasks/projects that may be assigned.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the nursing service area (i.e., medication rooms, nurses’ stations, resident rooms, etc.). 
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. 
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions. 
  • Is involved with patients, personnel, visitors, government agencies, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. 
  • May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, personnel and visitors.  
  • Communicates with the medical staff, nursing services, and other department supervisors. 
  • Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and holidays, and in other positions temporarily when necessary.  Scheduled hours may change to meet facility needs.  
  • Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate. 
  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. 

 EDUCATION:

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.  Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.

 EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least two (2) years of experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing home admissions

 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in healthcare marketing, particularly in the skilled nursing industry.
  • Strong community connections and understanding of local healthcare networks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be highly organized with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. 
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. 
  • Must be knowledgeable in the privacy rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures. 
  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and nonprofessional personnel. 
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents and/or families. 
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. 
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the patients, personnel and support agencies. 
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
