About the Department

Boulder County Human Services Department is seeking to hire a Legal Technician II (Liaison). This hybrid role includes Liaison duties for occasional court appearances, attorney support, docket management, court filings, submissions and correspondence support between the courts and legal technicians. Interstate Establishment duties include meetings with customers to achieve desired data, initiating cases to controlling states for establishment and enforcement of support orders and frequent communications with other state child support agencies.
This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position will work remote and out of 515 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $60,840.00 - $74,178.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:
- Phone Screening: Week of May 18th
- First Round Interviews: Week of May 18th
- Second Round Interviews: Week of May 25th
- Language Proficiency Test: Week of June 1st
- Reference Check: Week of May 25th
New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month (Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify). Boulder County offers bountiful benefits, including pension contributions.

Position Duties
- Occasional court appearances, attorney support, docket management, filing legal documents into the Court's E-Filing System
- Client interviews and case management in an interstate establishment capacity
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
AND
- 4 (four) years of clerical/office experience
INCLUDING
- 1 (one) year as a Legal Technician, Paralegal or Human Services Case Management
Additional related education may count towards required experience.

- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Child Support interstate or establishment experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

- Knowledge of the Child Support Program and case management
- Familiar with applicable laws and knowledge of court procedures, legal research, document preparation
- Adaptability, ability to exercise independent judgment, skilled in interviewing clients and collecting information
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, communicate with co-workers and develop case plans
