BluePearl is now hiring for a Director of House Officer Programs! We are seeking a specialty veterinarian who has a demonstrated capacity to create compelling vision and purpose, coach, educate and mentor clinicians.

This is a remote position with frequent travel up to 40% travel.

The Director of House Officer Program leads the development and implementation of all BluePearl house officer development programs, policies, and objectives to create and maintain a healthy pipeline of clinical talent. This individual will collaborate with stakeholders to assess house officer training and development needs as well as to gauge the effectiveness of established programs. The Director of House Officer Programs develops the strategic plan and sets direction of residency program and internships (rotating/specialty). You will function as part of a high-performing clinical development team to execute upon program objectives.

Job Duties:

  • Leads the design, development and/or refinement of house officer programs, monitor effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement and alignment with practice objectives. 

  • Oversees the execution of house officer programs, including residencies and internships (rotating and specialty) ensuring they are appropriately leveraged to achieve talent pipeline needs. 

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to assess house officer training and development needs as well as to gauge the effectiveness of established programs.  

  • Develops the strategic plan and sets direction of residency program, internships (rotating/specialty). 

  • Functions as part of a high-performing clinical development team to execute upon program objectives 

  • Monitors KPIs to ensure strong return on investment and alignment with practice strategy.  

  • Oversees relationship with external industry partners including universities. 

  • Serves as advocate for clinical engagement and culture of learning across the practice, participating in related initiatives as appropriate. 

  • Collaborates with Campus Connect team on externship pipeline to ensure roles are filled. 

  • Delivers program training content in person or virtually and be available for consultation and high-impact mentorship situations as needed. 

  • Develops and implements key performance metrics for functional area and ensure regular reporting of results to stakeholders. 

  • Ensures creation and maintenance of BluePearl DVM curriculum reflecting changing trends, information, regulation, and technologies. 

  • Builds partnership with the Mars Vet Health Learning & Development team to coordinate support and ensure consistent delivery methodologies.

  • Support House Office Program strategy and growth within BluePearl and the MVH ecosystem.

  • Other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), one-year rotating internship and board-certified specialist required.

  • 8+ years of job-related experience in a leadership role within the veterinary industry required. Must have prior role with focus on clinical talent development.

  • Experience in an academic environment preferred.
