Compensation
Summary: This position will be part of the Maintenance Department and will consist of 8-hour days, Monday through Friday. The rate of pay for this position is $31.67/hr. The McPherson facility produces cured and uncured fiberglass products that serve the Automotive, Aerospace, OEM, Aire Handling and Pipe & Mechanical markets. Working from general verbal and written instructions and according to established operating procedures, performs the following duties while cooperating with all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance and Protection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Under general supervision of Plant Engineer, and direct supervision of the Storeroom Lead, receives, stores, and disburses supplies and equipment. Working from general verbal and written instructions and according to established operating procedures, performs the following primary duties, in addition to providing support to the Shift Receiving and Stores Clerk:
• Shows initiative in supporting safety, plant-wide. Participates on committees as required.
• Reviews and validates MRP (auto replenish of stocked parts) prior to order placement.
• Responsible for inventory accuracy, including cycle counting, and stock relocation.
• Creates new stock records in SAP and adds to hierarchy.
• Purges obsolete parts from inventory.
• Oversees/assists with receiving and stocking of inbound storeroom materials.
• Oversees the shipping of outbound storeroom related materials.
• Schedules and audits cycle counts.
• Writes purchase requisitions in SAP for out-of-plant repairs.
• Assists with refurbishment process.
• Corrects part receiving/issuing errors in SAP.
• Assists in orientation and training of new storeroom employees.
• Works with Storeroom Lead in resolving technical issues.
• Interacts with other departments as required to support plant and department operating objectives.
• Demonstrates ability to support and function in team environment.
• Performs other duties similar to the above as assigned by management.
Requirements (education, skills and abilities):
Required:
• Four (4) years’ experience in inventory management (preferable, in an industrial environment);
• Strong inventory management skills;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Solid writing, interpersonal, and communication skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and to troubleshoot and to manage multiple priorities and projects;
•Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
• Must certify for DOT and IATA; and
• Must certify for fork truck operation.
Preferred:
• Background in maintenance work;
• Strong mechanical aptitude;
• Experience in manufacturing setting;
• SAP skills;
• Vocational degree.
• Minimal travel required (0 – 10 days per year)
• Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 50 pounds.
• Work environment is typical of a plant floor setting at a manufacturing facility.
