Position Description:

The Laboratory Specialist III in the Department of Surgery Oncology at the University of Louisville will perform the following essential duties:

  • Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow (manage staff schedules, workload distribution and shift coverage).

  • Develop, implement and maintain SOP’s, including biosafety, chemical and radiation safety standards.

  • Maintain lab schedules, coordinate projects, and manage daily task prioritization.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional, local, state and federal regulations along with maintain accurate records for audits, inspections and safety reviews.

  • Animal management including breeding, genotyping, animal sacrifice, tissue harvest, and IACUC management. Also coordinates work on the animal models Flow, MSD-ELISA, IRE and CyTOF staining.

  •      Human sample collection and management.

  •      Maintain oversight of all lab equipment.

  •      Oversee ordering, stocking, and tracking of reagents, supplies and consumables.

  •      Manage laboratory and procurement budgets.

  •      Provide guidance on laboratory techniques, instrumentation and workflow optimization.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$79,540.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$52,993.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
