Description
The Student Assistant will provide administrative and technical support to clients as part of the Educational Media WP team. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the Student Assistant will also be required to answer phones and staff the front desk. They will assist clients (faculty and campus visitors) with classroom audio-visual equipment and Zoom. Training will be provided.
- Assist clients with audiovisual equipment in classrooms and event spaces.
- Answer a wide variety of questions related to the department’s procedures and other general questions (training and documentation will be provided).
- Greet and assist incoming visitors at the front desk of our office.
- Assist with answering the phone and going to the classroom to assist.
- Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and receive training to properly assist clients
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
- Reliable and patient with visitors
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with Zoom meetings preferred
- Experience with computers, cameras, or professional sound equipment is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft word, Powerpoint, and Excel is a plus.
- Office experience a plus
Summary
Exact schedule to be determined with supervisor; no more than 20 hours per week when school is in session and no more than 35 hours per week during breaks.
Operating hours are 8:30am - 9:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5pm Friday, and 9am - 1pm on Saturdays.
