Job Mission:
In the VA Division, you will design and develop innovative end of arm tools and other solutions with electrical and mechatronic parts such as printed circuit boards for our vacuum automation products and systems. You will be responsible for turning requirements into robust designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and supporting our customers and internal stakeholders with reliable, high‑quality solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and design new products, components, and systems in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
• Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications using CAD software (ideally SolidWorks) for both electrical and mechanical design.
• Read, create, and update electrical and pneumatic schematics to support design, production, and service.
• Select suitable electrical and electronic components based on technical specifications, environmental conditions, and application requirements.
• Assemble and wire electronic modules and assemblies according to circuit diagrams, layout drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform precise manual and automated soldering work in accordance with relevant standards and quality requirements.
• Conduct basic functional tests and visual inspections on assembled electronic components to ensure reliability and conformity.
• Apply basic to advanced PLC (SPS) knowledge (e.g. Siemens) to support commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of systems.
• Ensure that all electrical work is carried out in line with applicable regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (R&D, production, quality, and product management) throughout the product life cycle.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to product design.
• Other tasks and duties may be assigned as required, provided they align with your skills and competencies.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES:
• Very good CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks, for electrical and mechanical design.
• Strong ability to read, create, and maintain electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Confident handling of common measurement and testing equipment for troubleshooting and validation.
• Structured, detail‑oriented, and quality‑focused way of working.
• Hands‑on mindset with a high level of initiative and problem‑solving ability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross‑functional and international environment.
• Willingness to continuously learn and stay current on new technologies and standards.
• Good command of English; German skills are an advantage for collaboration on site and with local stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• Completed training as Electrician or Mechatronics Technician (or in a similar technical field).
• Further qualification as Master Craftsman (Meister) or State‑Certified Technician (Techniker) in electrical or mechatronics engineering.
• Authorized to work independently on electrical systems according to relevant regulations.
• Basic to advanced PLC (SPS) knowledge (e.g. Siemens).
• Experience with PCB design and/or working with electronic assemblies is an advantage.
• Experience in an industrial automation, machinery, or similar technical environment is beneficial.
