About the Department
Responsibilities will include a combination of administration, patient care,
research and teaching activities.
Position Duties
I. Teaching 25%
A. Supervises the provision of prenatal care and directly supervises the delivery of pregnant patients.
B. Supervises residents in continuity clinic.
C. Works with medical students at the Quincy site.
D. Presents within the didactic curriculum for the SIU Quincy residency as needed.
E. Mentors residents and students as needed.
II. Service 70%
A. Provides direct patient care to own panel of patients at SIU Center for Family Medicine
-Quincy including provision of prenatal care and delivery of pregnant patients.
B. Conducts procedure clinics as needed.
C. Participates in family medicine and obstetrical call.
D. Participates in quality and peer review process.
E. Serves on school and department committees as assigned.
III. Administration 0%
IV. Research/Academic Activities 5%
A. Conducts research in areas of particular interest and publishes in referred journals. Completes at
least 2 scholarly activities every 5 years.
B. Attends and presents at local, state, and national professional meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
A. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
B. Experience providing services to multicultural populations.
C. Experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations.
D. Must possess an MD or DO degree.
E. Must have graduated from an accredited residency training program at time of hire.
F. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine at time of hire.
G. Must be licensed in the State of Illinois to practice medicine at the time of hire
H. Must be willing to practice obstetrics and participate in the obstetrics call rotation.
I. Must be willing to practice inpatient family medicine.
