The Project Manager & Business Development Lead is responsible for managing projects from initiation through completion while identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow client relationships and expand service offerings. This role blends operational excellence with strategic outreach—ensuring projects are delivered with quality, timelines, and budget expectations, while also supporting the company’s long-term growth through targeted business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, scope, and budget.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, architects, contractors, and permitting agencies.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings, define deliverables, and establish communication and reporting expectations.
- Manage workflows related to building inspections, plan review coordination, and permitting when applicable.
- Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and escalate risks or delays when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, field staff, finance, leadership) to ensure successful project delivery.
- Track project performance using appropriate tools and KPIs.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and complies with regulatory requirements
Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and emerging markets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to drive retention and repeat business.
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to support pipeline growth.
- Develop proposals, quotes, and scopes of work in partnership with leadership.
- Support marketing and sales initiatives, including capability statements, presentations, and client outreach campaigns.
- Conduct market research to understand competitor landscape and industry trends.
- Assist in the development of annual business development goals and metrics.
Client Engagement & Communication
- Ensure exceptional client experience through timely communication, transparency, and proactive problem-solving.
- Liaise with permitting departments and inspection providers to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Gather client feedback and use insights to enhance service offerings.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of project management experience in engineering, construction, inspections, or similar industry.
- Experience with building inspections, plan review, and permitting a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage projects with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license; local travel required.
