Join the Jalapeno Tree family and become a part of the Pepper Posse!  At the Jalapeno Tree, we are passionate about delivering Crazy Good Mexican Food in a family-friendly atmosphere.  We are seeking energetic, motivated individuals who are dedicated to exceptional guest experiences, high-quality ingredients, and exemplary service. As a server, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking and delivering orders, and ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.  Provide information about the menu, specials, and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders from guests, ensuring that special requests and dietary/allergy restrictions are communicated to the kitchen.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure that orders are delivered accurately and meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
  • Monitor and attend to guests’ needs throughout their meal. Refill drinks, clear empty plates, and ensure that tables are clean and organized.
  • Present checks to guests, process payments, and handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
  • Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues with professionalism and efficiency. Escalate any unresolved issues to management as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the server station, dining area, and other workspaces. Ensure that all health and safety standards are followed.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties and sidework as assigned.

  • Qualifications:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Ability to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash and credit transactions.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Certifications:
    • TABC Certification for serving alcohol.
    • Texas Food Handlers Certification.
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with guests and provide an exceptional dining experience.
    • Clear and effective communication skills for taking orders, interacting with guests, and coordinating with team members.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Proficiency in using point of sale (POS) systems and other restaurant management software.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move at a rapid pace, bend, twist, and lift products weighing up to 35 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
