This position is PRN working shifts as needed.

What you will do:
Works under the supervision of the physicians and management team to care for patients within all departments of the hospital and outpatients; places ultrasound guided PICC lines, mid lines, and IV’s; communicates with physicians regarding patient conditions, needs, and care plans.
 
Required Education:
Formal RN Nursing Education

Preferred Education:
Bachelors of Science (BSN) in Nursing

Required Skills:
1. Strong organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision-making and patient care skills.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, and safety standards.
3. Excellent veni-puncture skills.
4. Knowledge of medical terminology.
5. Ability to determine when physician intervention is necessary.
6. Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date.

Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
RN License
ACLS and PALS CPR
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:
BSN with VA-BC designation   
 
Required Experience:
One year experience as a vascular access nurse
 
Preferred Experience:
Greater than two years’ experience as a vascular access nurse
