STATUS: Full Time; 37.5 hours / week
LOCATION: Wilkinsburg
HOURS: Monday through Friday, varies

Milestone Centers, a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., is a nonprofit, community-based human services agency supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges and intellectual & developmental disabilities in communities throughout Western Pennsylvania. Our Agency oversees 20 residential settings, two outpatient offices, three adult training facilities, a prevocational enterprise program, a consumer drop-in center, habilitation services, and two Health Care Quality Units in Butler and Warren, which train professionals in 18 counties. Milestone Centers has earned certification from the Sanctuary Institute for providing trauma-informed care.


Responsibilities

The Peer Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Peer Support Specialists while ensuring the effective delivery of peer-based recovery services. The Peer Support Supervisor plays a crucial role in promoting recovery-oriented practices and ensuring the effective integration of peer support services within the organization's broader mental health and substance use treatment programs. The role combines leadership, mentorship, and administrative duties to support both staff and clients in their recovery journeys. The Supervisor has the responsibility to maintain the program’s compliance with all state licensure and ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

  • Educate other team members and stakeholders about the role and value of peer support services.
  • Manage day to day operations of the Peer Support Program.
  • Provide and document weekly in-person supervision with certified peer support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
  • Oversee financial management and coordinate budget development for the Peer Support Program.
  • Coordinate and facilitate scheduled team meetings to ensure alignment, information sharing, and continuous team engagement.
  • Provide direct peer support services based on recovery-oriented practices.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of annual and ongoing training for Certified Peer Specialists, ensuring both organizational training goals and individual staff development needs are met.
  • Act as the designated agency representative, collaborating with internal teams and external investigative bodies to respond to incidents in accordance with all applicable contractual and regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee documentation and record-keeping practices of peer staff.
  • Prepare reports on program performance and client engagement.
  • Manage program resources effectively, including staff scheduling and workload distribution.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and four years of mental health direct service experience that may include Peer Support Specialist; and has completed the Certified Peer Specialist supervisory training curriculum approved by the Department; OR
  • Associates degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, counseling, education or a related field from a program that is accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDOE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university approved by the USDOE; three years of mental health direct service experience that may include Peer Support Specialist; and has completed the Certified Peer Support supervisory training curriculum approved by the Department; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, counseling, education or a related field from a program that is accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDOE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university approved by the USDOE; two years of mental health direct service experience that may include Peer Support Specialist; and has completed the Certified Peer Support supervisory training curriculum approved by the Department
  • Mental Health Professional who has completed the Department approved Certified Peer Support supervisory training
  • Two years of management experience preferred
  • Act 33, Act 34 clearance and FBI background check
  • Valid PA Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
