Westland Insurance Group Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an Account Executive, Commercial Insurance in Thunder Bay, ON. You will be responsible for maintaining and growing a book of business, providing strategic insurance guidance, and acting as a trusted advisor to our commercial clients. Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $80,000 - 112,500 based on a 37.5-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
Westland also offers a competitive commission structure for this role.

Why we’ll love You:
- Proven ability to manage and grow a commercial book of business
- Strong sales acumen with success in prospecting, lead generation, and closing new business opportunities
- Deep understanding and solid knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance
- Minimum 5–7 years of Commercial Insurance experience
- Insurance Broker Level 2 License required
- Bonus! CAIB, CIP, CRM, or FCIP designation
- A champion of client service! Building authentic client relationships comes naturally to you
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Once here, you'll:
- Independently manage renewals, policy changes, cancellations, and client servicing needs
- Conduct risk assessments, coverage reviews, and gap analyses to provide tailored insurance solutions
- Develop sophisticated marketing submissions and negotiate the best terms with insurers on behalf of clients
- Build and grow your portfolio through prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing sales opportunities
- Lead strategic renewal planning and account reviews for mid-market and large premium accounts
- Review contracts, claims, and technical insurance issues while guiding clients through resolutions
- Strengthen client relationships through proactive communication, regular meetings, and trusted advice
- Mentor and support junior team members on complex accounts and client interactions
- Introduce clients to other Westland solutions including Private Client Services and Westland Benefits
