Purpose of the Position

The Field Service Technician will be Responsible for in-house and on-site installation, commissioning, technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of electro-mechanical measuring devices. Ability to solve broad technical problems. Contributes to efficient startup and operation of Kistler equipment.

Main Tasks

  • Provide service and support to customers via on-site visits, phone, email, and technical reporting.
  • Maintain knowledge of new and existing products/applications.
  • Perform on-site installation, configuration, setup, and maintenance on electronic devices and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Read schematics, mechanical drawings, test procedures, and product definitions.
  • Train and certify customers on Kistler equipment installation and use.

Requirements Profile

  • Experience operating and testing electronic instrumentation.
  • Experience in calibration theory and techniques for measurement devices.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of 24 V DC control circuits.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Experience applying force, pressure, and torque transducers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
  • Strong electronics knowledge with prior experience testing electronic instrumentation and operating test equipment.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Able to travel on short notice (including overnight/weekend and occasional international).
  • Associate in Applied Science degree or equivalent.
  • Physical: sit/stand, computer use 80% of day, drive, lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in factories, near highways, day/night, varied weather, elevated/uneven surfaces.
  • Safety focused.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
