CHT/EMT/Paramedic - trining provided for the right candidaternThe CHT/Hyperbaric Technologist administershyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients appropriate to the level of his/her medical training; as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber(s) and associated systems and equipment and assists in the delivery of patient care and environmental safety at all times.rnMaintains visual observation and/or audible contact with the hyperbaric control panel and patient in chambers at all times.Observes hyperbaric systems and patient during the course of hyperbaric oxygen treatment at all times and reports unusual occurrences to hyperbaric physician and Safety Director and records patient's condition in EMR.Prepares and maintains the hyperbaric chamber equipment, medicine and materials needed for hyperbaric treatment patients. Operates and ensures the safety of the hyperbaric systems and equipmentrnPerforms preventative and all other required maintenance for the hyperbaric chambers and maintains maintenance logs appropriately.Discusses hyperbaric treatment process, purpose, procedure, risks and benefits with patient and obtains required consents.Provides the patient with the prescribed hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment per established protocols.Supports Safety Director in maintaining operating, maintenance safety logs and other required documentation.Assists with patient care duties as needed and maintains required competencies.Possesses strong verbal communication skills and demonstrates the ability to communicate with adult and geriatric age groups.Ability to work independently and within a team environment and to adapt to changing patient flow schedules.Possesses knowledge of EMR system(s) and documentation requirements and of patient confidentiality standards and requirements.Possesses knowledge of outpatient provider services.High School Diploma/GED.Completion of appropriate UHMS hyperbaric/dive training and certification eligible. Minimum 6 months of work experience as hyperbaric or diving technician/EMT or Paramedic certification. Completion of NBDHMT Hyperbaric Medicine Course. Certified Hyperbaric Technician or eligible to obtain within 3 months ACLS/BLSrnWilling to train any candidate with EMT/Paramedic credentials
