    JH/HS BETA JOB DESCRIPTION
     
    Objectives of this role
    Provide students the opportunity to develop and build their citizenship and leadership skills through leadership of the student body and assisting students in developing and providing opportunities for them to engage in services to the community.
     
    Responsibilities

    • Attend a variety of supporting activities held by the student council for the purpose of providing information regarding the program and/or recognizing participants accomplishments
    • Brainstorm with students about ideas and events to put on throughout the school year for student engagement.
    • Establish different community events and volunteer opportunities for students with the purpose of building student interaction with the community and providing a chance for students to give back to their community.
    • Organize and supervise a group of students who will meet regularly for the purpose of planning ideas and projects throughout the school year.
    • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.
    • Provide students the opportunity to develop and build their citizenship and leadership skills for the purpose of building confidence and strength in students.
    • Respond to questions or concerns of students, parents, or other school staff related to student council matters and provide information, assistance, and/or direction to questions related to student council activities.
    • Supervise students at all sponsored events put on by the student council and ensure proper student behavior at meetings and events.
    • Support students in any project, outing or club activity for the purpose of ensuring students have everything they need for the club to function at is full potential.

    • Ability to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances
    • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
    • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings
    • Ability to provide leadership, direction, and team building for young adults
    • Ability to travel to off campus meetings and events
    • Ability to maintains strict confidentiality of student information
    • Adhere to all district rules, regulations, and policies
    • Must have at least a High School Diploma/G.E.D.

     
    Preferred skills and qualifications

    • Professional Educator's license (PEL)
    • Bachelor' Degree
