The Systems Engineer designs, implements, and optimizes secure, high-performing infrastructure — including SQL databases, system integrations, and ETL processes — that fuel data-informed decisions and efficient district operations. This role strengthens performance, safeguards data integrity, and delivers scalable solutions within a culture built on teamwork, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Requires advanced knowledge of software applications and languages utilized by the District and technology hardware, systems integration and design of systems; materials, methods and tools used in the installation, operation and repair of computer systems and applications; technical aspects of computer training and support; basic record-keeping and report preparation techniques; oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; modern office practices, procedures and equipment; proper lifting techniques; public sector business and education practices and standards; best practices and emerging trends in the technology services and application support industry; Systems development and maintenance techniques; software development life cycle,computer systems management practices; project management techniques, programming languages; web server and development platforms, tools and technologies, security, services, server/database integration including Microsoft SQL; data warehousing including data structures, data mining, data transformation services, and query and reporting tools; emergent technologies) client-side scripting languages, and server-side scripting languages.
Requires the ability to establish and maintain database access security; troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware problems; serve as a technical resource to District personnel; create and maintain documentation including procedures; research, evaluate, and recommend new server-based technologies; architect, develop, and write disaster recovery plan for major district technology systems; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; meet schedules and timelines; maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field; and maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.

Comments and Other Information
The District will contribute towards health benefits on a prorated basis (based on employee's work year and hours assigned). The benefit package includes options for medical, dental and vision. Medical plan options include Kaiser, Western Health Advantage and Sutter Health Plus.
$10, 960 per year for Employee-only medical benefit selection.
$13,000 per year for Employee+1 or Family medical benefit selection.
