Position Summary
The Senior Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in retirement plan administration, overseeing complex compliance functions and guiding internal teams on regulatory matters. This role independently performs advanced testing, contribution calculations, and analysis, while also reviewing and approving the work of other analysts. The Senior Analyst collaborates with Retirement Plan Consultants (RPCs) and clients to provide strategic insight, ensure plan compliance, and support onboarding and plan termination efforts. This position plays a key role in quality control and continuous improvement across the analyst team.
*Responsibilities:
- Lead advanced year-end processing, including census import and scrubbing, compliance testing, trust accounting, preparation of Form 5500 and 5330 filings, lost earnings, and Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).
- Calculate complex employer contributions in alignment with plan design and client goals.
- Conduct and interpret nondiscrimination and other compliance testing; provide strategic correction alternatives and advise on optimizing future test results.
- Serve as a quality control reviewer for the work of junior and mid-level analysts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with RPCs to resolve issues, review plan data, and deliver client-facing solutions.
- Manage compliance-focused projects and contribute to internal workflow enhancements.
- Support plan onboarding and termination processes as needed.
- Identify and escalate significant issues, exceptions, or data discrepancies to appropriate stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience in retirement plan administration or compliance.
- ASPPA or NIPA credentials preferred; ongoing pursuit of credentials encouraged.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements and plan design nuances.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific retirement plan software.
