Pay Range:

$66,500.00 - $109,250.00

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Field Application Scientist to provide on-field support for pre-and post-sales activities with direct customers and channel partners. The FAS provides technical support to customers in instrument operation, training new users, developing and adapting unique applications, and presenting company technology. The successful candidate will have a strong hands-on laboratory background and excellent understanding of spatial biology applications, will be ready to join a hard-working team, and is passionate about taking Lunaphore, a Bio-Techne brand, to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Educate, train, and support new and existing customers on Lunaphore instrumentation and data analysis solutions.
  • Understand in depth the different fields of study of the company’s products and customer applications, including but not limited to: oncology, neurobiology, immunology, developmental biology, inflammation, infectious diseases.
  • Attend scientific meetings, conferences, and trade shows to and present company products, applications, and data. Present company technology to prospective customers and at symposia and scientific meetings.
  • Investigate issues relating to hardware, software, and biological assays develop solutions to address them.
  • Collaborate with account managers to expand instrument, software, and consumable sales.
  • Develop multiplex staining assays and evaluate stained tissues.
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, Customer support, and R&D to address customer needs and provide high-quality support.
  • Report and present feedback from the field through thorough and detailed presentations. Help define customer requirements and applications for new products.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of key competitor and adjacent technologies and present strategic information to external teams as necessary.
  • Manage demonstrations of Lunaphore products, including developing and optimizing novel experiments, analyzing stained images, and presenting data to prospective customers.
  • This position includes mandatory frequent overnight travel to customer sites and events (50-75%) where necessary. Occasional international travel may be required to support global customers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree Life Sciences or similar required
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences or related area preferred

Skills:

  • Demonstrated competency in experiment design and analytic skills, with strong scientific fundamentals.
  • Thorough understanding of histology, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, microfluidics, and automation.
  • Ability to independently support customers through proactive communication, reagent/instrument troubleshooting, and running optimization/validation studies.
  • Solid communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to translate data to meaningful, understandable conclusions.
  • Professional presence and strong interpersonal skills.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of hands-on experience working in a molecular biology lab, clinical lab, discovery lab, or biochemistry in a research or clinical setting is required.
  • Previous experience in a field application or scientific support position is desirable.
  • Experience in histology, oncology, immunohistochemistry, image analysis, microscopy, or neuroscience.

Working Conditions:

  • Position is remote (North America) with up to 70% overnight travel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to endure prolonged sitting, standing, as well as traveling to customer sites.
