ROTC at Wilmington University
Wilmington University is committed to academic excellence in our classrooms; relevant programs in our curriculum; and caring, personal attention to our students. One of our great strengths is the enthusiastic, personal involvement of our trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, and alumni in creating a sense of community. We believe that the opportunity for higher education should be available to all who seek it, and we will continue to meet the ongoing challenges that higher education presents in the years ahead.
Wilmington University is proud to offer two separate ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) programs. The ROTC was established in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson, as a part of the National Defense Act. The program was designed to offer additional leadership training for college students looking to broaden their horizons outside the classroom. Both the Army and Air Force classes are held at the University of Delaware. The Air Force also holds select classes at Dover Air Force Base (DAFB). Students enrolled through Wilmington University’s ROTC program will be instructed at the University of Delaware’s training and classroom locations or at DAFB.
Only ROTC instructors assigned by the military branches to teach at these Delaware sites are eligible to apply for this adjunct faculty position.
