POSITION SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health Clinician will work with older adult clients and individuals experiencing chronic mental illness. The clinician will provide assessment, evaluation, and counseling services to individuals, families, and caregivers to improve the mental health and quality of life of the clients served. This position supports, promotes and furthers our goal of providing the highest standards of culturally relevant and sensitive professional services that are consistent with the agency’s mission and PCTI principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides counseling as part of the client’s treatment plan using evidence based and age appropriate.
- Modalities including but not limited to individual and family therapy as appropriate, to address the needs of the client(s).
- Maintains an active caseload of older adult clients and individuals experiencing a chronic mental illness.
- Collaborates with other JFS staff to address the clients’ needs and make appropriate referrals.
- Provides services that are of the highest standard and that are culturally relevant to the clients served.
- Provide case management services as needed
- Organizes and facilitates groups and serves as a speaker on the agency's behalf.
- Performs intake, on call, and other direct services as required.
- Conduct home visits as appropriate
- Complete all administrative tasks including but not limited to maintaining client records in an up to date, complete, clear, and concise manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
