The Credit Analysis team plays a critical role in maintaining the strength and stability of the bank. Their primary responsibility is to evaluate new commercial and corporate loan requests, ensuring that every decision aligns with sound credit principles and the organization’s risk appetite. This team conducts detailed financial analysis, assesses collateral, and applies risk rating methodologies to provide a clear, objective view of each opportunity. By doing so, they help balance growth with prudent risk management—protecting the bank while enabling clients to achieve their goals. The team works closely with Relationship Managers and senior leadership, offering insights that guide strategic lending decisions. In short, they are the gatekeepers of credit quality, and their expertise directly impacts the health of our portfolio and the long-term success of the business.
Senior Credit Analyst is a highly skilled role responsible for underwriting complex commercial and corporate loans, including C&I transactions. Operating independently, this position conducts in-depth financial analysis, cash flow modeling, and collateral evaluations, preparing comprehensive credit narratives for decision-making. Senior Analysts also review policy exceptions, validate third-party valuations, and collaborate closely with Relationship Managers on deal structuring. Their expertise ensures that high-value transactions are assessed thoroughly, balancing risk and opportunity. This role is critical to safeguarding the bank’s portfolio while enabling strategic growth through well-informed credit decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead underwriting for complex new loan requests, ensuring compliance with policy.
- Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including cash flow modeling and collateral evaluation.
- Prepare detailed credit narratives and recommendations for decision committees.
- Run advanced industry and market reports (Vertical IQ, CoStar) and integrate findings.
- Identify and document policy exceptions; propose resolutions.
- Update risk rating scorecards for complex structures and modified conditions.
- Review and validate third-party business valuations and environmental assessments.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers on deal structuring and risk mitigation.
- Serve as a resource for junior analysts, providing guidance on underwriting standards.
- Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced coursework or certification (e.g., CFA) preferred.
- 4+ years in commercial or corporate credit underwriting.
- Expertise in credit risk analysis for C&I and corporate loans.
- Advanced proficiency in Abrigo Sageworks and integrated systems.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and lending policies.
- Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to mentor and support junior analysts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.
