Job Description

Inspire. Nurture. Lead.

The South Shore YMCA is looking for passionate, nurturing Teachers and Lead Teachers who are dedicated to creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to inspire young minds, build meaningful relationships, and make a lasting impact on children and families in our community.

Why Join the Y?

At the YMCA, we believe in creativity, lifelong learning, and helping every child reach their full potential. As part of our team, you'll be surrounded by a supportive community of educators and staff who share your passion for early childhood education.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create & Implement: Develop engaging lesson plans that support children’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development.

  • Nurture & Support: Foster strong relationships with children and families, keeping them informed of their progress.

  • Ensure Safety & Inclusion: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.

  • Collaborate & Grow: Work with a team of educators to create a positive, cohesive classroom atmosphere.

  • Meet High Standards: Maintain compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC best practices, and quality standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and staff.

  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child growth and development.

  • Classroom experience is preferred but not required—we value dedication and a willingness to learn.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive pay based on experience and education.

  • College tuition reimbursement to support your career growth.

  • Retirement plan with a 12% contribution after vesting.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time staff.

  • Free YMCA family membership and discounts on childcare, camp, and other programs.

  • Flexible schedules with both part-time and full-time positions available.
