Responsibilities:

What you will be doing as a PRODUCTION PLANNER:

  • As Production Planner at MEC, you will support production in the areas of  sales order management, forecast management, customer interface and work order maintenance.
  • Planning, Scheduling, and coordinating production to meet the customer demand outlined in MRP using planning parameters. 
  • Review and update planning parameters in alignment with changes of demand, utilizing capacity, while accommodating inventory goals.
  • Revises schedules and issues work orders to suit order changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts. 
  • Determines revised plan in the event of failures to meet schedules. 
  • Notifies customer service in the event of failures in meeting shipping schedules.  
  • Researches late parts, identifies and brings bottlenecks to manufacturing's attention. 
  • Works closely with engineering and customer service to implement engineering changes and monitors structure (bill of material) problems. 
  • Works closely with Master Scheduling to ensure all master plans are maintained and executed. 
  • Expedites, as needed, any late deliveries from outside vendors, sub-contract, etc. 
  • Analyzes production data to find ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize costs


Qualifications:

What it takes to be a PRODUCTION PLANNER AT MEC:

Associate/Bachelor's Degree in related field,  one to three years planning experience, APICS Certification and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
