As Procurement Specialist, Mechanical you:
- Develop, manage, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate vendor rebate and buying programs.
- Lead RFP processes, including bid evaluation and supplier selection.
- Perform cost analysis and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analyze pricing of key commodity products to ensure competitive and appropriate levels based on product type, vendor, and purchasing region.
- Oversee material requests from site foremen for day-to-day line materials.
- Create and issue complete purchase orders (POs) as legally binding documents.
- Manage the full purchase-to-pay process, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and properly archived.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and contract documentation, ensuring traceability and audit readiness.
- Maintain and update the estimating database with current supplier price lists.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain–related role
- Construction and Mechanical product knowledge a definite asset.
- College diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial functions).
- Demonstrated experience in spend analysis, financial modeling, and data interpretation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- Experience using ERP systems (considered an asset).
- Experience with goods receiving processes (considered an asset).
