Job Description

Impact Electronic Solutions - Grants Pass Location (ESAM) - Position Description

Summary of Position:

Under supervision of the production supervisor of the solder department and using a soldering iron (pencil type), solders wires onto a variety of components.

Duties:

  1. Bend wires and mechanically attach to components.
  2. Tin the wire
  3. Read instruction sheets
  4. Call for In Process Inspection when applicable.
  5. Fill out traveler paperwork.
  6. Make suggestions on improving the processes.
  7. Solder wire.
  8. Remove solder and rework.
  9. Hand strip as required.
  10. Perform special assignments and other duties as required.

Requirements:

  1. Able to distinguish colors.
  2. Able to read small print and read a ruler.
  3. Have excellent manual dexterity.
  4. Grasp a soldering iron and hold solder for eight (8) or more hours per day.
  5. Sit for eight (8) or more hours per day.
  6. Able to lift and carry 25 lbs. on a repeated basis.
  7. Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
  8. Have the ability to work with arms at shoulder level for extended periods of time.
  9. Ability to Bend head and neck at an angle to view through a halo light or scope to solder very small components.
  10. Must be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20)

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday 5:00am-1:30pm
  • OT is required, as needed. OT Hours: Mon-Thursday 2 hours immediately following shift, and Sat.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Assembly Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Mechanical Knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
