    Position Title: Early Childhood Teacher

    Qualifications: 
    Required: A Bachelor's Degree and valid Missouri teacher certification in Early Childhood or Early Childhood Special Education.
    Preferred: A Master’s Degree. Previous teaching experience.
     
    FLSA: Exempt
    Salary Schedule: Per-Approved Teacher Salary Schedule
    Direct Report: Coordinator of Early Childhood Services and ESOL/Building Principal
    Terms of Employment:  9 Month
    Eligible for emergency telework: Yes
     
    Purpose: Meets the individual needs of preschoolers and works alongside families to ensure proper preparation for kindergarten.

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
    • To “telework” when requested by the District.
    • Plan and prepare developmentally appropriate lessons based on district curriculum, student interests, and current data.
    • Assesses student progress towards curriculum objectives for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration.
    • Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan.
    • Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students.
    • Facilitates preschool students’ learning for the purpose of improving the students’ academic success and transition to elementary school.
    • Implements parent education program for the purpose of encouraging parent involvement and providing leadership to the program.
    • Monitors students in a variety of educational environments for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
    • Collaborates with special education staff to support individualized instruction and behavioral intervention plans for students with IEP’s.
    • Collect and monitor data related to student performance and progress.
    • Follow Federal, State, and Local compliance plans.
    • Other assigned duties.
