Beginning June 1st, 2026, and ending July 31st 2026

Number of positions:5

Pay: 12.00 Per hr.

Must be 16 Years or older

Summer Camps are Monday through Friday – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm - hours may slightly vary 


The Grove Academy launched their first day camp is summer of 2016. Thanks to many partnerships formed in the community, we are able to offer four full weeks of camp every summer with two additional single-day camps offered during spring and winter school breaks. Each of our camps are themed with unique and exciting experiences. Camp counselors work camp weeks and the weeks between camps to learn activities and help set everything up! 


June 1st thru 5th – mandatory training days 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

 

As a Day Camp Counselor, you will:


  • Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include: crafts, nature, songs, games, opening and closing ceremonies, swimming, archery, and kayaking.
  • Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to Day Camp Leadership.
  • Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the day camp program.
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the day camp and all program areas. This includes, but is not limited to, being responsible for camper safety and their whereabouts at all times.


Requirements:


  • 16 years of age or older
  • Experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field preferred.
  • Complete First Aid and CPR certification (Part of new hire training) 
  • Be able to restrain and physically support children when needed for safety in general day camp activities (child weighing 50 – 200 pounds).
  • Must have the ability to lead and participate in camp activities which include, but are not limited to hiking, kayaking, swimming, team building, building campfires, physical games and activities.
