About this Position

Support the development of automotive adhesives from concept to approval through formulation, testing, and data-driven analysis. Execute experiments, perform key characterization tests, and evaluate raw materials for performance and cost optimization. Ensure accurate documentation and smooth scale-up to production while troubleshooting issues. Collaborate cross-functionally and maintain strict EHS compliance, contributing to continuous lab improvement.

What you´ll do

  • Support adhesive product development from concept to customer approval (formulation, sample prep, lab testing) for automotive requirements.
  • Plan and execute experiments, document results, analyze data, and recommend next steps (incl. basic DoE where useful).
  • Run key characterization and application tests (adhesion/peel/shear, cure behavior, basic rheology, aging/chemical resistance, substrate prep/pretreatment).
  • Screen new raw materials/suppliers, benchmark vs. references, and support cost/performance optimization.
  • Create clear documentation and reports with full data traceability and quality compliance.
  • Support scale-up/transfer to pilot/production and help troubleshoot process or performance issues.
  • Collaborate with PD, Application Engineering, Production, Quality and Supply Chain; communicate results in meetings and support customer updates with senior colleagues.
  • Work fully EHS-compliant (safe handling, SDS, labeling, waste, equipment upkeep) and contribute to lab continuous improvement (5S, standard methods, templates)

What makes you a good fit

  • PH.D or Chemical Engineering, Materials/Polymer Science (fresh graduates welcome; internships/thesis in polymers/adhesives a plus).
  • Hands-on lab mindset and strong interest in formulation and testing; curiosity to understand failures and improve performance.
  • Analytical thinking and structured working style; strong documentation discipline and safety awareness.
  • Basic data/statistics skills (Excel; JMP/Minitab and DoE knowledge are a plus).
  • Clear communication and teamwork skills; learning agility in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Proactive, customer-oriented attitude and strong drive to deliver results.
