    The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has an opening for three ABE Teachers for the Extended School Year at our Dean Lakes Education Center location in Shakopee, MN.

    Description
    ESY ABE Teacher, Approximately 6 hours/week; 
    2.5 hours of student contact time, 30 minutes of prep time.

    Job Summary
    ESY ABE Teachers will provide consistent instruction for adult learners during the months of July and August.

    Locations, Dates & Times

    ESY will be conducted from 6/29-8/26 on Tuesdays and Thursday's.
    Available shifts:

    • Morning: 9:00 a.m. � 11:30 a.m.
    • Evening: 5:00 p.m. � 7:30 p.m.
    • Online: 6 hours a week 

    Qualifications

    • Valid Minnesota Teaching License.
    • Ability to work the Tuesday/Thursday schedule for both July and August (morning or night or online)

    Responsibilities

    • Provide classroom management / one on one instruction in ESL language and literacy to adult learners.
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and contact hours.
    • Support students in using computer-based testing platforms for CASAS and TABE.
    • Varied levels of ESL students will attend, the instructor is there to assist on their individual work when needed, and or facilitate a class when appropriate.
    • Support and assist digital skills practice in lab space
    • Scoring TVM packets 

    Pay & Benefits
    The pay rate range for this position is $37.16-$68.91/hr based on their experience.  Benefits include: TRA (Pension Plan)
