Radiology Limited Permit Technician - Orthopedics (per diem)

Employment Status:  Per Diem
Hours per Pay Period:  0.01 = per diem (as needed) (Non-Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE:  $20.66 - 25.83
Under the direction of a registered radiologic technologist
or radiologist, operates radiographic equipment to obtain ordered radiographs
consistent with department radiographic routines and procedures. In doing so,
positions patients, adjusts equipment for proper exposure settings and
processes images following the procedure. Performs limited radiographic
procedures according to Montana State permit limitations.

Essential Job Functions


Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of
Billings Clinic and department/service.
• Ensures radiological services provided are in compliance with standards
established by the institution, state and according to limited permit State
statute.
• Performs non-complex procedures and radiographs using the appropriate
department routine as ordered. Performs examinations using all the general
radiographic equipment. Ensures that all exams are checked by the registered
radiologic technologist for critique and approval.
• Prepares the room, equipment and supplies as dictated by the particular
examination or patient needs and processes the necessary radiographs.
• Prepares the patient for the examination by ensuring the patient is attired
properly, explains the examination to the patient and transfers and positions
the patient as needed. Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety for patients,
self and co-workers. Assists the patient at the end of the examination.
• Informs management, lead technologist, or registered rad. tech of any unusual
concerns, situations or conditions relative to staff, patients and physicians.
Assists with the Quality Improvement program, assists with technique chart and
stocks and cleans their assigned room daily. Maintains adequate inventory of
all required supplies by informing appropriate personnel for acquisition
• Performs a variety of clerical and filing tasks, as required, such as working
up patients, image file maintenance, and completing the appropriate paper work
following each examination
• May float to various departments, clinics and off site facilities to fulfill
staffing needs.
• Identifies need and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all
mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency
environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job
performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned or need to meet the needs of the
department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
•Current Montana license as a X-Ray Limited Permit Tech
•CPR Certification for Health Care Providers
