The Assistant Dispensary Manager supports the day-to-day operations of a Texas Original retail dispensary, ensuring exceptional patient service, regulatory compliance, and operational consistency. This role assists in leading Retail Associates and maintaining store performance while ensuring the dispensary operates smoothly and in alignment with company standards. The Assistant Dispensary Manager acts as the manager on duty in the absence of the Dispensary Manager.



The Assistant Dispensary Manager supports the day-to-day operations of a Texas Original retail dispensary, ensuring exceptional patient service, regulatory compliance, and operational consistency. This role assists in leading Retail Associates and maintaining store performance while ensuring the dispensary operates smoothly and in alignment with company standards. The Assistant Dispensary Manager acts as the manager on duty in the absence of the Dispensary Manager.


Essential Functions:
  • Support daily operations for the retail dispensary location, including staffing, scheduling, and store readiness
  • Supervise Retail Associates, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and patient-centered care
  • Ensure strict adherence to all state cannabis regulations, company SOPs, and security standards
  • Oversee retail dispensary operations during open hours, ensuring the store is organized, compliant and patient ready
  • Assist patients during order pickup, including verifying ID, confirming prescriptions and providing product guidance
  • Process retail transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system and maintain proper cash handling procedures
  • Support order fulfillment operations, ensuring orders are verified, packed, organized, and dispensed properly
  • Maintain a clean, professional retail environment while resolving patient questions or concerns in a timely manner
  • Resolve patient and operational escalations promptly and professionally, both in-store and over the phone
  • Oversee cash handling and reconciliation processes to ensure compliance with internal financial controls
  • Support onboarding and training of retail staff to ensure consistent execution and adherence to standards
  • Maintain effective communication with store leadership and team members to ensure seamless coordination and operational alignment


  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance readiness during inspections and audits, support quality assurance initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the marketing and logistics teams for local events, outreach, and delivery support as needed.


  • What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Proven ability to support and lead retail teams while maintaining operational discipline
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, including POS systems and cash handling
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Ability to ensure all retail activities align with HIPAA, local, and state cannabis regulations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Professionalism, patience, and a process-driven approach
  • Exceptional communication and customer relation skills
  • Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft 365, and inventory tracking software
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform various movements including reaching, bending, and stooping as needed.


  • This schedule is Wednesday - Sunday.
