As Service Manager, you will provide overall leadership to the entire service team and take full responsibility for operational performance, customer satisfaction, safety, service excellence, employee engagement, and financial results. This role requires a strong leader with deep operational insight, sound business judgment, and the ability to motivate teams to achieve shared goals.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensure programs are in place at all locations to carry out production and service operations to the company's operating and safety standards;
- Work with the service team to ensure equipment is serviced and available in a timely manner;
- Provide daily supervision and support to technicians and shop leads;
- Work with and support our parts and service team to ensure parts/inventory is purchased, stocked and available to meet the needs of repairs;
- Ensure all repair orders are being submitted, entered correctly and timely;
- Oversee and provide direction, coordination and evaluation of multiple operating locations in multiple stores;
- Monitor and approve all rental fleet repairs within approved thresholds;
- Monitor and approve all external fleet repairs;
- Ensure operations staff is recovering warranty when possible;
- Ensures all required company policies and procedures are maintained;
- Overall responsibility for safety within operations assigned; ensures all locations have developed and implemented safety and environmental programs for the protection of employees and assets and regulatory compliance within their area of responsibility;
- Proactive involvement in operational safety to include such things as reviewing and approving safety incident reports prior to local operation submittal to corporate; follow-up on development and implementation of incident countermeasures; and personal attendance at safety committee at various operations with regularity;
- Directly supervises personnel involved in managing operations, developing business opportunities and maintaining customer service standards within their area of responsibility;
- Ensures appropriate business relations are maintained with all customers within their area of assignment
- Responsible for staffing to make sure all repair and operational needs are met;
- Develops and leads initiatives to maintain existing business and develop new business expansion opportunities within their area of responsibility;
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure timely repairs and service delivery
- Collaborate seamlessly with your colleagues to create a supportive and efficient work environment.
- Follow all workplace safety protocols and environmentally sound practices, making sure everyone stays safe.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
- Mechanical Experience: An experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic with strong diagnostic and failure analysis skills. Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining a wide range of construction equipment including Genie, Skyjack and CAT.
- A Proven Leader: Previous supervisory and leadership experience.
- Customer Service Oriented: Excellent communication skills and a knack for making customers feel valued.
- Organization Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage daily schedules, coordinate materials and equipment and monitor inventory.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and familiarity with Cat systems (ET and SIS would be considered an asset)
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
- Independent Worker: Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Endurance: Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly up to 50lbs.
- Safety Focused: A strong commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and Battlefield’s health and safety policies.
- A technical understanding of CAT equipment would be considered an asset.
- A Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Preferred)
- Flexibility to support on-call schedules and adapt to business demands.
- Hydraulic system knowledge
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
- Ownership of personal tools required for the role.
