Job Description: 

The Northern Valley Regional High School District seeks a Biology Teacher to deliver high-quality, NGSS-aligned instruction and maintain a safe, inclusive, and student-centered laboratory environment during the leave period.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and teach standards-aligned Biology lessons emphasizing phenomena, inquiry, and the science & engineering practices.
• Facilitate labs and investigations, ensuring strict adherence to lab safety and chemical hygiene procedures.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress; differentiate for diverse learners and implement IEP/504 accommodations.
• Maintain accurate records, communicate regularly with families/guardians, and uphold classroom routines.
• Collaborate with science department colleagues, case managers, and counselors; attend required meetings/duties.
• Utilize instructional technology to support learning.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success with lab-based, inquiry-driven instruction and inclusive practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Job Requirements:

• Valid NJ certification in a relevant area (Biological Sciences).

Salary Range:
$70,021- $85,888

Additional Employment Requirements:

• Approved criminal history background check for district 3710
• Pass the Trash approval
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Current residency in New Jersey or approved residency waiver, or candidate agreement to obtain residency within one year of employment.
