The Hotel Lead Laundry Attendant physically carries out as well as helps direct daily laundry services. This position is responsible for supervising assigned employees. This position will support the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge in Bethel, AK.
Seeking to hire Bethel residents. This is a non-rotational position.
- Train new laundry attendant staff on proper procedure, production, and policy.
- Ensure laundry staff follow proper laundry procedure including folding, stocking, handling of equipment and chemicals.
- Communicate employee performance, attendance, conduct, and operations concerns to Housekeeping management in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate and assign daily laundry department tasks equitably based on staffing levels, business needs, and operational priorities.
- Partner with Housekeeping management throughout the shift to provide updates on laundry workflow, staffing capacity, and support needs to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
- Sort, weigh, and load linen (terry, sheets, and pillowcases, etc.) into washer and dryer.
- Safely operate various washers and dryers. Maintain productivity standards.
- Place folded linen on marked shelves and transport to floor linen rooms in a timely fashion.
- Check washing machine drains to prevent clogging. Inform engineering if maintenance is needed.
- Maintain a well-organized, neat laundry room. Damp mop laundry floor, clean washers and dryers, clean lint traps on a daily basis.
- Empty all washers and dryers and turn all machines off at completion of shift.
- Wear proper uniform at all times as specified in associate handbook.
- Assist with Housekeeping as needed.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success may also be assigned.
- This position is responsible for the supervision of assigned employees.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- At least one (1) year of related experience demonstrating knowledge of industrial laundry responsibilities and supervision of employees.
- Basic computer skills using applicable software.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Contract requires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess at least one (1) year of documented experience working in a Lead Laundry position within a hotel/hospitality environment.
