Role Overview
The Design team supports our field teams and helps deliver affordable, efficient, and desirable home designs. As an Architecture Associate, your role is to create and maintain accurate layouts, fronts, sales plans, and construction documents, while growing in mastery of our systems and contributing to continual improvement of our tools, drawings, and processes.
Core Functions
Design
Develop efficient, affordable layouts and buildable fronts.
Create multiple concepts and refine selected designs.
Refine
Partner with builders to resolve plan and field issues.
Participate in plan reviews and perform corrections to improve accuracy.
Apply city-specific code nuances to drawings as required.
Create
Produce comprehensive construction document sets.
Prepare plans, renderings, and schematic designs.
Maintain plan consistency and version accuracy across cities and releases.
Coordinate with internal partners (construction, sales, purchasing) to support accurate and timely plan releases.
Improve
Develop mastery of internal tools, drawing standards, and BIM workflows.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve quality and speed.
Assist
Support teammates by collaborating, sharing knowledge, and assisting during workload shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Detailed personality
- Experience in Revit
- Advanced computer skills
- Desire to serve others
- Degree in a field related to Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Math, or Science
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced architecture, drafting, and/or home-building experience
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Variation of environments.
- Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium and high pitch.
- Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
- Frequent walking on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, rock, etc.).
- Ability to navigate hazardous conditions such as frequent moving vehicles, construction equipment, and various construction materials.
- Must have a current and valid driver�s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance.
- Ability to lift 20 - 75 pounds.
Hours and Schedule
- Average 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F).
- Travel is occasionally required.
