Schedule: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am, three 12-hour shifts, variable scheduled days
Your role with us
As a CNA in our inpatient rehabilitation unit at Salem Health, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and strength during their recovery journey. You’ll work alongside a collaborative care team to support patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery in a structured, goal-oriented environment focused on progress and outcomes.
In this role, you’ll provide hands-on, compassionate care while encouraging patients to participate in their daily activities and rehabilitation goals. Your ability to build trust, observe changes, and communicate effectively will directly impact patient progress and overall experience. What you'll do
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and positioning.
Support rehabilitation goals by encouraging patient participation, independence, and a balance of activity and rest.
Monitor, observe, and promptly report changes in patient condition, behavior, or vital signs to the nursing team.
Reinforce patient education during daily care activities, helping patients safely perform movements and tasks.
Document patient care clearly and accurately using appropriate medical terminology and electronic systems.
Communicate effectively with the care team, including participating in patient handoffs.
Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection control protocols, proper lifting techniques, and equipment safety standards.- Assist with unit operations such as stocking supplies, transporting specimens, and maintaining organized workspaces.
Required qualifications
- Licensed in the State of Oregon to practice as a CNA.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
