Job Summary

SPECIAL EDUCATION AIDE: Mild/Moderate

The job of Special Education Aide is done for the purpose/s of assisting in the supervision and instruction of Special Education students under the supervision of a certificated teacher in a special education or regular classroom; observing and documenting student progress; implementing plans for instruction; and providing clerical support to teacher. Incumbents in this classification provide direct academic support to students and teachers which directly supports learning.

This job reports to the Principal or Designee.

Experience:
Job related experience is desired.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Testing:
As required for position

Certificates & Licenses:
48 college credits completed, or an AA degree, or be able to demonstrate college level skills by passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.

Clearances:
-Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
-TB Clearance
-Making Right Choices (MRC)
-AB 1432 (Mandated Reporter Training)
-AB 2246 (Pupil Suicide Prevention)

Salary Info

Salary Range: 33 - Plus paid holidays, vacations, sick time. Also includes great benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Flex-Pay)

It is important to note, to become an employee of Grossmont Union High School District, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs $72 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost).
