Job Description

We are looking for a driven and patient CNA to become our new Restorative Care Aide (RCA)! The RCA is responsible for providing care to a resident that is designed to strengthen muscles, assist with mobility, promote independence and prevent functional declines. 

Responsibilities and Purpose

  • Encourage the residents to perform tasks for themselves as appropriate and as assigned by the Staff Nurse and the residents’ overall plan of care.
  • Practice good body mechanics while delivering restorative nursing care to prevent injuries to self or to others.
  • Provide good body alignment, positioning devices and contractures padding.
  • Monitor and assist with the performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote resident involvement to the highest extent possible.
  • Evaluate and document the residents’ progress. Communicate results to the Staff Nurse and seek input and supervision from the Staff Nurse to confirm findings.
  • Report to the Staff Nurse any adverse conditions experienced by the resident during the provision of restorative nursing care including, but not limited to, pain.

Desired Experience and Education

  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Completed additional instruction and training in restorative care procedures with appropriate documentation as evidence of completion.
  • Experience in a Long Term Care environment preferred.
