Substitute School Nurse - Summer Position (2026)
General Description:
The summer school nurse oversees the health and wellness of students enrolled as well as the staff members in each program offered by Malden Public Schools. This is a seasonal position while the programs run, dates and hours vary depending on the program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine daily care and administration of OTC and prescribed medications.
- Provide emergency care to student and staff when needed
- Maintaining daily medical log records and reporting any student incidents to the program coordinators
- Performing other job-related duties
Requirements:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Familiar with life threatening allergy protocols
- Committed to working in and fostering an inclusive community
- Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies
- Work collaboratively and independently
- Maintain an enthusiastic and positive presence to all students, staff and families
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and risk management skills
Salary: $40 per hour
