Cook Job Summary:

Join our team at Berrien Oaks Nursing and Rehab in Nashville, Georgia, as a Cook. We are seeking an experienced Cook to cook and prepare food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.

Cook Responsibilities:

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
• Safely utilize a variety of utensils
• Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
• Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, residents, and co-workers
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager

Cook Qualifications:

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required; ServeSafe Certified, and LTC Long Term Care or healthcare background preferred
• Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
• Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 25 lbs

• Must be able to pass background screening
