Overview:
NOTE: Compensation determinations will be made based on meeting the years of relevant occupational experience and the educational requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs research and conducts comprehensive data analysis to support the College’s strategic planning, operational decision-making, accreditation, state/federal/compliance reporting, program evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position collects, analyzes, interprets, and validates data from multiple internal and external sources; identifies trends and patterns; performs statistical and predictive analysis; and translates complex findings into meaningful, actionable insights for stakeholders. The Research Analyst plays a key role in monitoring institutional performance, supporting accreditation and improvement systems, evaluating academic programs, conducting labor market and environmental research, and ensuring data integrity. This position maintains confidentiality and ethical research practices and provides exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):
(50%) Data Analysis and Report Development
- Collect and extract data from multiple sources including the student ERP system, Learning Management System (LMS), internal and external databases, and other relevant systems.
- Clean, validate, and standardize data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
- Utilize relational databases and reporting tools to develop operational and executive-level reports and dashboards.
- Perform statistical analysis, data mining, data modeling, predictive analytics, and trend analysis using appropriate analytical tools and techniques.
- Forecast trends and identify emerging opportunities based on historical and current data.
- Translate complex data into clear, understandable reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Communicate key findings and actionable insights to college stakeholders.
- Create reports and provide data to support and monitor accreditation processes and requirements.
- Process data submissions to regulatory agencies.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis for evaluation of academic programs and overall college effectiveness.
- Provide data analysis and reporting support for key performance indicators (KPI), grant development and grant compliance activities.
- Maintain and update College Scorecard and Fast Facts.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests in a timely manner to support institutional decision-making.
(25%) Quality Review and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the Institutional Effectiveness Manager regarding institutional improvement planning.
- Conduct systematic review and evaluation of academic program performance.
- Provide analytical support for accreditation and institutional improvement planning systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process and performance improvement based on data findings.
- Provide consultation and guidance to college personnel regarding reporting requirements, accreditation metrics, program review, and improvement initiatives.
- Serve on the Process and Data Governance Committee and other committees as assigned.
- Participate in Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) statewide committees related to institutional research and reporting, as applicable.
25%) Research and Institutional Studies
- Conduct research to evaluate program effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Coordinate research processes for adding, suspending, or discontinuing academic programs.
- Perform employer needs assessments, occupational analysis, competitive analysis, and labor market research.
- Conduct, analyze, and submit the College’s surveys and environmental scan to support strategic planning efforts.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline required.
- Two to three years of related occupational experience required.
Note: May consider candidates with alternative combinations of education and experience consistent with the College’s equivalency guidelines.
